The Dev Playbook is a build-in-public project that documents real app development using a structured, repeatable methodology. Every phase — from initial concept to post-launch growth — is documented in the dev journal as it happens.

The Methodology

The 6-phase Development Pipeline is adapted from production processes used at studios like EA, Blizzard, and LEGO. It's designed for indie developers and solo creators who want studio-grade process without studio-grade overhead.

Each phase has clear entry criteria, structured steps with concrete deliverables, and exit criteria that prevent skipping important work. The result is a repeatable system that works for any app, on any platform.

Build in Public

Every project built with the Playbook is documented transparently. That means real decisions, real pivots, real mistakes — not polished retrospectives written after the fact. The journal captures what actually happened, not what should have happened.

This Site

This site is itself built using the Playbook. It's a React 19 application using React Router v7 with static pre-rendering, Tailwind CSS v4, and MDX for content. Hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The source code and every commit are public.
